If you count the number of visitors to Taj Mahal, the symbol of love, it is said that sometimes there are more foreigners than locals. It is estimated that at least 7 million people visit the Taj Mahal every year. Located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, this Vennakal wonder is one of the most loved places by foreigners.
Amritsar, Punjab
A heritage city founded in the 15th century by Guru Ramdas, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs, Amritsar is one of the most spiritually significant and historically rich cities in India. The Golden Temple in Amritsar is one of the most serene and humbling sights in India. Amritsar has a very special place in the history of India. The city is an important landmark in terms of religious destinations, cultural heritage, India’s national integrity and India’s struggle for independence from British rule. It is estimated that more than one lakh people visit the Golden Temple alone every day. The Golden Temple and Amritsar are places that foreign tourists never miss when visiting India.
∙ Jaipur
Jaipur is another busy tourist destination that is visited by a large number of people. Here is the sight of a whole country turned into a tourist destination. There is much to see and experience here, including a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Jaipur, a favorite destination of many foreign celebrities, has many forts and palaces, including Hawa Mahal and Amer Fort, standing tall to impress anyone. It is estimated that at least 30 lakh people visit Jaipur every year. The number of foreign tourists is unlimited.

In a sense, Goa can be said to be a land of foreigners. Here we can feel the presence of foreigners in every nook and cranny. Goa is one of the few places in India where most foreigners visit and spend most of their time. It has to be said that this entire state depends on the arrival of foreigners. Tourism and business here are dependent on foreign tourists. With more than 100 km of coastline, it is crowded with visitors at all times. Welcoming more than 25 lakh visitors every year, Goa is known for its beach parties, pubs and uncrowded and quiet beaches.

No foreigner’s visit to India is complete without a trip to God’s own country. Foreign visitors who once came only for houseboats and Munnar have now taken over the whole of Kerala. Thousands of foreigners come every year to taste our local food and explore the countryside. There is also a significant increase in the number of tourists coming to Kerala every year. The government is also now devising and implementing many activities to stimulate the tourism sector. Kochi, Alappuzha and Idukki are the favorite destinations of many foreign tourists today

The chants of prayers rising to the sky and the fragrance of sandalwood attract not only us but also lakhs of foreigners to the soil of Varanasi. According to reports, people come only to watch the early morning Ganga Aarti. Though being the spiritual capital of India, Varanasi is also a busy tourist destination visited by the most tourists. One of the oldest cities in the world, Varanasi attracts more than 3 million visitors a year alone.

The Himalayas are also chosen by foreign travelers who love adventure activities like trekking and hiking. It has to be said that the base camp and other mountains are conquered by more foreigners than us. Thousands of foreign tourists visit the Himalayas every year. All the small and big areas of the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are filled with foreign tourists every year. From dense forests to lush valleys, tropical forests to mighty hills, diverse flora and fauna to romantic climates, the Himalayan mountain range has it all.
